The Great Wave Off Kanagawa - 7pm - Canceled
May 22, 2018 @ 7pm
*I'm GUESSING bc there's no sense in *painting* a Great Wave if we're actually *experiencing* Great Waves all over Athens! Some places it's super dark & rainy, some places it's bright & cheery - and rainy. Either way ALL RAINY! Stay in. Open that bottle of wine. Stay dry. Don't spill the wine!
The Great Wave off Kanagawa is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. It was published sometime between 1829 and 1833[1] in the late Edo period as the first print in Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. It is Hokusai's most famous work, and one of the most recognizable works of Japanese art in the world.
